Musicians union of Malawi –MUM has applauded minister of trade and industry Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba for Settling Outstanding FIM Affiliation Fees the Union had with Federation Internationale de Musiciens (FIM).
This is in a statement the union has released on Monday 28th April 2025 and signed by its president Vita Chirwa.
In an interview with Eagle FM Chirwa said the union acknowledges support which the minister has rendered by helping them to settle their outstanding affiliation fees of 840 pounds which is approximately 1 Million seven hundred twenty three thousand kwacha including bank processing fee.
According to Chirwa, Mumba’s financial support will significantly assist MUM to fulfil its international commitments and unwavering obligation of promoting the sector both at local and international level.
He has further added that Musicians Union of Malawi is committed to remain an active member for FIM, which helps the local artists to stay connected with global networks, benefit from international advocacy and participate in global initiatives aimed at protecting the rights of the local musicians.
