More than 200 exhibitors to participate in this year’s trade fair.

The Malawi confederation of Chambers of commerce and industry-MCCCI says more than 200 companies have shown interest to participate in this year’s 35th Malawi international trade fair slated from 22nd to 29th May at Chichiri trade fair grounds in Blantyre.

Director of membership development for MCCCI Wezzie Mungoni has revealed this while giving an update on the preparation of this year’s fair which she said are now at an advanced stage.

Mungoni said this year MCCCI planned to host 106 exhibitors but more than 200 companies have submitted relevant documents which according her this signifies a growth in the business sector.

She added that this year’s trade fair which is happening under the theme promoting economic transformation through private sector-led industrialization will strengthen international relations in business investments.

Mungoni further said that they are planning to involve programs aimed at motivating players in manufacturing industry to exhibit their value addition locally products to attract international investors.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is expected to preside over the official opening of this year’s 35th trade fair.
