The Malawi electoral commission says they have planned a National Election Consultative Forum NECOF meeting to be held on Wednesday 30th April in Lilongwe as preparations for September election are still underway.
The commission says the meeting has been organized to serve as a platform for reviewing and updating stakeholders on various activities the commission has done and is undertaking in readiness for this year’s election.
In an interview with Eagle FM Director of media and public relations for MEC Sangwani Mwafulirwa said as per tradition, they meeting will bring together traditional leaders, all political party representatives, relevant government agencies and development partners among others.
Mwafulirwa alluded that through the meeting the commission will also be able to get different views from the stakeholders on various issues in regard to preparations of this year’s election.
This is happening as the commission is planning to conduct voter inspection and verification exercise scheduled for next month.
