Government has vowed to strengthen international cooperation and boost trade exports with an aim to earn more foreign exchange in the country.
Minister of trade and industry Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba said this on Monday during the opening of 60th edition of the Maputo international trade fair taking place in Maputo, Mozambique which will run up to Sunday 31st August 2025.
Speaking at the opening Mumba said the bilateral relations between Malawi and Mozambique is driving the growth of trade through transportation corridors of Nacala, Beira and Maputo which Malawi uses when exporting goods.
Mumba pointed out the Significance of the bilateral trade between the two countries as a gate way to boost businesses including Small scale enterprises in the country.
Some of the exhibitors taking part at the fare from Malawi include ADMARC, Press Trust, Press Cane, and the National Bank of Malawi, as well as over 15 SMEs.
