Government through the ministry of Homeland security has assured Malawians of smooth issuing and printing of passport services as the department of immigration and citizenship services is expected to resume its services.
This came as the department of immigration and citizenship services announced that it has stopped issuing and printing of passports services following the termination of contract with e-tech Company limited and its plans to engage a new firm.
But in a press statement government says the resumption printing and issuance of passport services follows a successful migration from temporally solution offered by E-Tech Company to permanent solutions by Madras Security printers.
In an interview spokesperson in the ministry of homeland security Joseph Chauwa said this is going to improve passport issuance services by having additional offices where the services will be offered such as Salima, Mzimba, Karonga and Kasungu among other areas.
Chauwa said the ministry is committed to ensure Malawians are getting the quality services in order to contribute positively to the country’s development.
