A grouping known as Concern teachers of Malawi has appealed to local Government to speed up process of deploying successful teachers to be posted in various public schools before opening of 2025-2026 academic calendar.
This follows a statement released by the local government indicating that results for IPTE 14 to IPTE 18 teachers that attended interviews last in July will be recruited this week.
General Secretary for concerned Teachers of Malawi Aziz Losa has commended government for the gesture saying this is in line with what the grouping has been lobbying government to consider mass recruitment of teachers who have been lying idle after completing their studies.
On his part education expert Moffat Njati has expressed satisfaction with the long awaited development which will help to close gap on teacher-pupil ratio.
Njati has also called upon the awaiting teachers to take their profession as a calling and remain dedicated for the country to achieve the agenda 2063.
At least 26000 teachers are expected to be recruited from IPTE 14-IPTE 18.
