The call was made on Sunday during the induction of Bishop Matthews Mkata as resident pastor for Maone Brethren in Christ Church in Blantyre.
Speaking to Eagle FM Reverend John Mapelela who was the guest of honor during the function said alot of ministers of gospel are putting much focus on spiritual growth of their members alone thereby neglecting other aspects including membership and financial growth.
Mapelela said when the church is growing in different aspects it helps the members to desist from indulging in immoral activities thereby enhancing development.
He challenged the newly inducted pastor to be vigilant and lead by example for the church to grow.
On his part Bishop Matthews Mkata has expressed commitment to work with the church leadership and the entire congregation in spreading the good news.
